I wrote this post back in May, and I have no idea why I didn't post it then. Just imagine-- he's only gotten funnier in the last 5 months!





After he dumped all of the contents out of the fridge (one of a long series of misdemeanors that morning) and was watching me while I silently fumed and tried to keep my mouth shut so I wouldn't go completely and irrationally ballistic on him:

How you doing back there Mom?

After I had asked him to do something:

Rylan: No!
Mom: Rylan, we don't say no. Say "yes, Mom!"
Rylan: I don't want to say yes mom! I said yes mom yesterday.


When I gave him a piece of apple:

Mom, this is Mr. Sluppy Apple.

Just now while I was writing this post:

"Mom, it's okay! You have the power!"

(Not only was I not talking to him right then, but we don't watch TV and I've never said anything like that to him in my life).

This child amuses me to no end.

San Juan Capistrano

One of the most beautiful places I've ever been in my life is San Juan Capistrano in southern California. We went there recently during a lovely, leisurely family vacation. We didn't get many amazing pictures of the gardens, but I love these pictures of my kids. Those little bits of beauty go with me everywhere, but I thought I'd share.

I don't think my blog has been introduced to Rylan's boots yet. Blog, meet boots. Boots, blog. This footwear accompanies us just about everywhere we go.

We spent almost three hours here, enjoying the fish, picnicking in the grass, checking out the ruins, and just enjoying the gorgeous weather.

I didn't tell him to pose like that, I promise. He came up with it on his own.
